On May 19, at Tao Dan Park in Hanoi, the Embassy of Cuba in Vietnam held a memorial ceremony for Cuban National Hero José Martí on the occasion of the 131st anniversary of his death (May 19, 1895 - May 19, 2026). Speeches delivered at the event highlighted the values of national independence, international solidarity, and the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

On April 17, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association (the Association), held a gathering to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Girón Victory of the Cuban people (April 19, 1961 - April 19, 2026).

On April 19, in Hung Yen, the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Meeting was held to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Victory of Girón. The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Council, the Provincial People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen Province.

On February 5, a special seminar was held at the University of Havana (Cuba) to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the historic statement by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro: “For Vietnam, Cuba is ready to shed even its own blood.” The seminar was jointly organized by the Embassy of Vietnam in Cuba, the Ho Chi Minh Vietnam Studies Department (University of Havana), the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), and the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association.
