According to The Indian Express, on Wednesday, the Pune’s minimum temperature was recorded at Shivajinagar at 15.3 degrees Celcius, followed by 16.7 degrees at Pashan and 17 degree Celsius at Lohegaon.

In the absence of any active weather system and mainly clear sky conditions, day time would be hot over Pune on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the maximum temperature on Thursday to remain 32 degrees whereas the minimum temperature could hover around 16 degree Celsius.

In the coming days, hot weather is likely to be experienced over Pune. In comparison to Tuesday, the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) fell to 104 which is considered a ‘Moderate’ category. The AQI forecast by SAFAR of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology for Thursday is 128.

Meanwhile, temperature in the capital on Tuesday shot up to 31.5 degrees Celsius, seven degrees above normal for this time of the year, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

This was the highest mark the maximum temperature has reached so far this year in Delhi and it is expected to increase till around 32 degrees in the coming days, IMD officials said.

Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the IMD’s regional weather forecasting centre in Delhi, said, “Towards the end of February, temperature usually starts rising, however, this is dependent on the number of Western Disturbances.”

5-Day Nationwide Weather Forecast

According to Weather.com, a series of western disturbances are expected to impact the Western Himalayan region this week. Therefore, parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh are likely to experience widespread snow or rain, along with thunderstorms and hail.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), fairly widespread to widespread rainfall or snowfall is possible over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad during the next five days. In addition, isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall is possible over Himachal Pradesh for the next two days, while scattered to fairly widespread may occur for subsequent 3 days. Parts of Uttarakhand are also likely to witness similar weather conditions of isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall for the next 5 days.

Furthermore, isolated heavy rainfall or snowfall is likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on February 25 and over Himachal Pradesh on February 26.

The heaviest snowfall is expected from late Thursday for the next 48 hours with snow totals in excess of 120 cm over the west part of Jammu & Kashmir. Moreover, intermittent isolated snow or rain is expected over the Himalayan region for the next few days due to the impact of cyclonic circulation.

Meanwhile, a trough is present over the west of Kerala, which is likely to bring spells of rain in some areas of the Malabar coast and Tamil Nadu for the next couple of days.

Warmer trends are forecast across many parts of India until early March at least. Temperatures may exceed the mark of 40°C in some pockets of Konkan & Goa from Saturday.

Regional Forecast

Widespread moderate snow or rain, thunderstorms and hail are predicted over Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

Isolated rain or snow and thunderstorms are likely over Himachal Pradesh. Isolated rain is possible over Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Kerala. Dry and calm weather is very likely over the rest of the country.
