(VNF) - Family Medical Practice (FMP) Vietnam and the Israeli Embassy will jointly organize a free medical check-up and treatment camp for needy people in the Central Highlands’ Kon Tum Province.

A medical team of 20 doctors, 30 nurses and up to 70 other support staffs from FMP Vietnam will provide health check-ups, health care advice, vaccinations and medicines free of cost for people in 10 communes in Kon Plong District between September 11^th – 18^th. The programme also aims to build the capacity of Kon Tum hospital to serve the local people.

Besides medical assistance, basic necessities such as books, clothes, blankets and cleaning supplies, besides food, toys, school supplies and confectionery will also be given to the local people.

“In line with the medical camp, we are inviting organizations and inpiduals to support this charity mission that could touch the lives of thousands of disadvantaged people. Any contributions toward these efforts from the community will be tremendously appreciated,” Meirav Eilon Shahar, Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam, said.

Organizations and inpiduals are invited to donate items or money until September 3^rd, which can help purchase salt, rice and flash-lights in support of this mission.

Kon Plong is a mountainous district, the poorest in the Central Highlands’ Kon Tum Province. It is home to some of Vietnam’s most disadvantaged communities, experiencing some of the highest death rates in the country from preventable causes – including a tragically high level of prenatal mortality from home deliveries without midwives.
