On July 11, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Vu Hong Thanh held talks with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire Woi Mela Gaston. On the same day, he met with Vice President of the Senate Sarra Fadika Sako. Earlier, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh worked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Côte d’Ivoire Overseas Kacou Houadja Léon Adom.

The two sides’ economic and trade ties with average annual bilateral trade reaching over US $1 billion in the past five years.
