The year 2026 has been identified as a pivotal one in laying the foundation for Da Nang's goal of becoming a drug-free city. Local authorities are conducting comprehensive reviews to accurately assess drug supply and demand, the number of drug addicts and illegal drug users, as well as conditions that contribute to crime, in order to develop sustainable and long-term solutions.

Major General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander in charge of law at the Vietnam Coast Guard Command has expressed his hope that the US Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) will augment cooperation with the Vietnam Coast Guard and Border Guard amid complicated developments of drug and human trafficking crimes.
