At a meeting between ASEAN and the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) held in Austria on April 9, 2026, Vietnam reaffirmed its proactive and active role in promoting multilateralism and strengthening coordination among developing countries.

Vietnam has consistently made positive and effective contributions to promoting multilateralism, helping to build a peaceful, stable, and sustainably developing world. Vietnam's frequent invitations to attend G20 summits are testament to its growing international role, stature, and prestige.

President Vo Van Thuong led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, China, from October 17 to 20. On this occasion, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu talked about the trip's significance.
