Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has recently signed Decision No. 1059/QD-TTg consolidating the National Committee on Persons with Disabilities of Vietnam (the Committee). The restructuring of this inter-sectoral coordinating body is expected to enhance the effectiveness of policy consultation, coordination, and implementation of programs supporting persons with disabilities, thereby safeguarding their rights and promoting social inclusion for more than seven million persons with disabilities nationwide.

After finishing the course, the health providers will come back to their respective provincial hospitals/district health centers and apply what they’ve acquired to improve the quality of rehabilitation services provided to persons with disabilities.

Artificial limbs were brought within the reach of the poor from rural and poor areas of Vietnam.

Vietnam has always attached importance to promoting and protecting the rights and interests of persons with disabilities in the principles of equality and non-discrimination.

A transition house in the provincial Rehabilitation Hospital was inaugurated on February 28, which was built with the support from the USAID Raising Voices, Creating Opportunities project.

As of September 2019, nearly 75,000 people had registered with a software managing information of people with disabilities in the central provinces of Quang Binh and Binh Dinh.
