On February 3 in Hanoi, a delegation of the Vietnam-Sri Lanka Friendship Association, led by its President Pham Van Linh, paid a visit to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vietnam to extend congratulations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (February 4, 1948 - February 4, 2026).

On April 15, at Quan Su Pagoda in Hanoi, a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony took place between the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Samastha Lanka Sasanarakshaka Mandalaya of Sri Lanka. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka A.Saj U.Mendis.
