On July 1 in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association held its 3rd National Congress for the 2025-2030 term. In her congratulatory remarks, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Gillian Bird emphasized that what makes the relationship between the two countries special is not only the cooperation between their governments but also the strong and enduring people-to-people ties. Friendship associations serve as the “heart” of this bond, spaces that foster dialogue, mutual understanding, and meaningful exchange.

On June 23 in Hanoi, President of the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association Tran Van Nhung received Professor Jane Fisher from Monash University (Australia) to discuss potential cooperation in the healthcare sector.

4,315 students of all ages from 45 schools in Hanoi entered a writing contest to share their thoughts about Australia and the Vietnam-Australia relationship to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
