On June 8 in Hanoi, Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), received Xian Hui, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on the occasion of the delegation’s visit and working trip to Vietnam. The two sides agreed to further leverage their role as a bridge between the peoples of the two countries, promote the implementation of agreed areas of cooperation, contribute to deepening Vietnam-China relations, and realize the common understandings reached by the senior leaders of the two Parties and two States.

On the occasion of the 80th National Day of Vietnam, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei held a press briefing on August 28. On December 12, in Hanoi, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son received a delegation from the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) led by President Yang Wanming.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Nguyen Phu Trong will pay an official visit to China from October 30 to November 2.
