On the morning of June 8 in Hanoi, the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union for the 2026-2031 term officially opened with the participation of 600 outstanding delegates representing nearly 10 million officials, members, and farmers nationwide.

From the 1st National Congress in 1988 to the 8th National Congress for the 2023-2028 term, the National Congresses of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union have not only marked the growth and maturity of the Union itself but have also vividly reflected the increasingly important role of the peasantry in the country’s renewal process, agricultural development, new-style rural development, and international integration.

The 9th National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union (VFU) for the 2026-2031 term will take place from June 7-8 at the Vietnam National Convention Center in Hanoi under the theme “Solidarity, Democracy, Breakthrough, Cooperation, Development.”

With the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Vietnam Farmers’ Union strikes to mobilize community participation to change their attitudes and take concrete actions to prevent gender-based violence and other harmful practices.
