On July 7, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam–France Friendship Association, and the Institute for Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) jointly organized a program celebrating the National Day of the French Republic and opening the exhibition “Vietnam-France Artistic Exchange 2026.”

The signing ceremony of a sisterhood agreement between Vietnam’s Da Lat Station and France’s Trouville-Deauville Station officially took place on May 7 at the French Embassy in Hanoi, attended by French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet, leaders of Vietnam Railways (VNR), representatives of the French National Railway Company (SNCF), the French Development Agency (AFD), and numerous organizations operating in the fields of transport, construction, and heritage preservation in both countries.

This is the proposal raised by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee and deputy Minister of National Defense, at a meeting with Patricia Miralles, Secretary of State in charge of Veterans and War Memories of the French Government released on May 5, in Hanoi.

Since 1996, France’s Val de Marne province has assisted Vietnam’s northern mountainous province of Yen Bai province through projects in many fields, making their relationship a typical example of local cooperation between the two countries.
