The exhibition features more than 200 documents, comprising nearly 450 pages of texts, photographs, and rare maps, preserved and collected over nearly half a century from various domestic and international sources. It is organized around three main themes, recreating the heroic days when the entire nation launched a General Offensive and Uprising to liberate the South, achieve national reunification, and open a new era of peace, independence, and development.

Under the theme The Paris Peace Accords on Vietnam – The Gateway to Peace, the exhibition showcases 19 documents and photographs currently archived at the National Archives II and the Vietnam News Agency. Many of these materials were once classified as "confidential" and "top secret" by the former Saigon government. They reveal the U.S. and Saigon regime’s schemes to sabotage the Paris Peace Accords.

The second theme highlights major military campaigns, including Phuoc Long, Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands), Hue-Da Nang, and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, through 133 archival items from Vietnam, the United States, and various individuals and organizations.

The final section of the exhibition presents over 50 photographs capturing the nationwide jubilation at reunification, the political consultations that followed, the general election for the National Assembly, and the steps taken to formally unite the country after the liberation of the South.

On the same day, two additional thematic displays were launched in the exhibition grounds: The Value of a Heritage Resource, which traces the formation and development of the National Archives Center II, and 50 Milestones in the Urban Planning of Saigon – Cho Lon – Ho Chi Minh City, featuring 50 rare maps and images chronicling more than 250 years of urban development.

Speaking at the event, Dang Thanh Tung, director of the State Records and Archives Management Department of Vietnam (Ministry of Home Affairs), emphasized that the documents on display today represent the passing down of invaluable historical values to younger generations.

The exhibition will remain open throughout the April 30 holiday and run until June 2025.
