The event creates the opportunity for the G7 and relevant agencies and organizations to share their strategies and commitments on persons with disabilities to combat discrimination, to ensure that everyone has the right to participate in full civil, social, and political life.

The multifacted discussion is titled as “Inclusion is a priority on the national agenda; universal access and prevention and management of emergency situations, independent life and integration at work, the right of all people to fully participate in civil, social and political life, artificial intelligence, sports and services for everyone.”
Another highlight of the Conference is the adoption the Ministerial Declaration at the closing session on Oct 16, also known as the Solfagnano Charter.
The Minister in charge of Persons with Disabilities of Italy Alessandra Locatelli highly appreciated Vietnam as a country with many outstanding achievements in promoting and protecting the rights and interests of people with disabilities, having many similarities with Italy in this field and the willingness to share contributing to the success of the conference.
| The expanded G7 Ministerial Meeting on Inclusion and Disability was historically significant as Italy first introduced an initiative to promote disability issues on the G7 Agenda. In addition to the G7 Ministers, the host country Italy also invited Ministers from 4 other countries including Chile, Kenya, Tunisia and Vietnam, European Commission (EC), International Development Association (IDA) and Environmental Protection Fund (EDF). |
